Aidan Bremner was born in Edinburgh/Scotland.
Studied at Edinburgh College of Art 1963-68.
Awarded Andrew Grant Travelling Scholarship for Sculpture.
Prizewinner 1989 2nd Irish Mini-Print Exhibition Dublin.
S. Goodenough Award 1989 at SSWA - relief panel.
Prizewinner Scotsman Magazine Cartoon Competition 1985.
Taught in Uganda as VSO volunteer at Scotus Academy and has taught sculpture and ceramics at
the Royal Blind School, Edinburgh, from 1974-1994.
Has appeared in minor roles in several editions of “Taggart”, “Winners and Losers” and “
justice Games” for Television. Performed with theatre workshops in “Robotnik”, “Crazy Horse”, “
Three penny Opera”, “Fractured Shadows”. “Gold”, “M”, “Birds of Passage” and “Badenheim”.

Aidan lives and works from Lagos all year round. He was born and trained as artist and art teacher in Edinburgh (Scotland). He is mainly working outdoors, directly from nature, choosing characters and selecting scenes which record the essence of the Algarve and its people. The strongest influence comes from the subject itself, it determines the mood and style of the picture, which can appear as a mixture of cartoon images and three dimensional studies, sometimes overlapping to give a surrealistic effect. He blends historical characters with everyday people and consciously distorts the perspectives. He also works in three dimensions, creating sculptures in metal and wood.

Aidan vive y trabaja en Lagos durante todo el año. Nació y se formó como artista y profesor de arte en Edimburgo (Escocia). Se está trabajando principalmente al aire libre, directamente de la naturaleza, la elección de los personajes y la selección de escenas que registran la esencia del Algarve y su gente. La mayor influencia proviene del propio sujeto, que determina el estado de ánimo y el estilo de la imagen, que puede aparecer como una mezcla de imágenes de dibujos animados y en otros tres dimensiones, a veces se superponen para dar un efecto surrealista. Se mezcla personajes históricos con la gente común y conscientemente distorsiona las perspectivas. También trabaja en tres dimensiones, la creación de esculturas en metal y madera.

Aidan Bremner nasceu em Edimburgo (Escócia) em 1946. Formou-se como artista no Edinburgh College of Art, foi professor de escultura e cerâmica na Royal Blind School e na Scotus Academy, e ensinou no Uganda, como voluntário VSO. A partir de 1994 radicou-se no Algarve. Artista multifacetado, diversas vezes premiado, além de caricaturista e escultor, participa como actor em séries televisivas e peças teatrais, mas também se dedica à música e ao espectáculo. As obras de Aidan Bremner estão espalhadas por vários países em colecções privadas e institucionais, nomeadamente na Queens Collection (Windsor Palace, Londres) e no Scottish Office (Edimburgo).
