Michael Romanos is a visual artist, museologist, art and costumes historian as well as a curator of contemporary art events.br> He is artistic director of the ATHENS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL- (www.athensfineartsfestival.gr)

Studies

He studied painting, costume design and art history in major schools in Greece and museums at the Cultural Center of the City of Athens. Some of his instructors were the famous artists, such as Michael Veloudakis and Fiorevantes Bakounis

Awards

He has received awards from the NELE in Kefalonia and the HELEXPO at the International Exhibition of Thessalonika

He founded along with Dionysi Stergiou the school for fashion design "ROMANOS" (1990-2000). At that time he also served as artistic director and professor of art history and costumes. He has authored a book on ancient Greek garments and drew all the illustrations contained in that book.
He has exhibited his art work at solo and group exhibitions and has participated at important Art Festivals. He is the artistic director for the exhibition " Greek Colours Abroad" which is held under the auspices of the Greek Foreign Ministry, as part the artistic mission of the ATHENS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL and the annual group exhibition "Art Events" organized in cooperation with the municipalities of Attica in Greece

Exhibitions and collections

His paintings are on exhibit at the Municipal Gallery of Mykonos, at the cultural venues of "Athinais" and the " Hellenic Archipelago", at the mail-art collection of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington and the Fine Arts Museum in Modesto, California as well as in numerous private collections.
He is a member of the Panhellenic Association of the Friends of the Archibishopric of Athens

Μιχαηλ ρωμανοσ

Ο Μιχαήλ Ρωμανός είναι εικαστικός, μουσειολόγος, ιστορικός της τέχνης και της ενδυματολογίας και επιμελητής εκθέσεων σύγχρονης τέχνης. Είναι καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του Φεστιβάλ Εικαστικών Τεχνών της Αθήνας - (ATHENS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL) - www.athensfineartsfestival.gr
Έχει σπουδάσει ζωγραφική, ενδυματολογία και ιστορία της τέχνης σε σημαντικά εργαστήρια στην Ελλάδα και μουσειολογία στο Πνευματικό Κέντρο του Δήμου Αθηναίων ενώ καθηγητές του υπήρξαν ο γνωστός ζωγράφος Μιχάλης Βελουδάκης και ο Φιορεβάντες Μπακούνης.
Έχει βραβευτεί από την ΝΕΛΕ Κεφαλονιάς και την HELEXPO στην Διεθνή Έκθεση Θεσσαλονίκης.
Ίδρυσε μαζί με τον Διονύση Στεργίου την σχολή σχεδιαστών μόδας "ROMANOS" (1990-2000), όπου και διατέλεσε καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής και καθηγητής της ιστορίας της τέχνης και του ενδύματος. Έχει συγγράψει ένα βιβλίο μελέτη, επάνω στο αρχαιοελληνικό ένδυμα με πλούσια εικονογράφηση από τον ίδιο.
Εκθέτει έργα του σε ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις και λαμβάνει μέρος σε σημαντικά Φεστιβάλ τέχνης.
Επιμελείτε την έκθεση "Ελληνικά χρώματα στο εξωτερικό" που πραγματοποιείται στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, στο πλαίσιο των καλλιτεχνικών δράσεων του ATHENS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL και την ετήσια ομαδική έκθεση "Δρώμενα Τέχνης" που διοργανώνεται σε συνεργασία με τους Δήμους της Αττικής.
Έργα του βρίσκονται στην Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη Μυκόνου, στον Δήμο Παλικής Κεφαλληνίας και στην ιερά Μητρόπολη Κεφαλονιάς και Ιθάκης, στους πολυχώρους πολιτισμού "Αθηναϊς" και "Ελλήνων Αρχιπέλαγος" στην συλλογή mail-art του Ιδρύματος "John F. Kennedy Center of the performing arts" στην Ουάσινγκτον και του Μουσείου Καλών Τεχνών του Mondesto στην Καλιφόρνια, καθώς επίσεις και σε πολλές ιδιωτικές συλογές.
Είναι μέλος του Πανελληνίου Συνδέσμου Φίλων της Αρχιεπισκοπής Αθηνών.
